Blog Event: Clarissa Yip Guest Post

Clarissa's tour 2
Clarissa's tour 2

I’m welcoming back author, Clarissa Yip, as part of the blog tour for her 3 newest releases – Tempting A Prince, One Chance & Silent Nights Seduction which are part of the 1 Night Stand Contemporary Erotic romance series :) .   Today, she is guest posting about her favorite genre of books and wants to know, what you’re favorite genre is!

Why Romance?

Love.

Hot Men.

Relationships.

Happily Ever After.

Humor.

Smiles.

Ever since I’ve been a child, I’ve been an avid reader. I practically read everything that was put in front of me.

It wasn’t until I was nine that I picked up my first romance. Still one of my favorite books: Once Upon a Time…by Kay Hooper. The whole Prince Charming, masquerade, falling in love, glass slipper, and happily ever after had me floating around in my own world.

Truth be told, I fell in love myself.

There’s no other genre that gives you that warm heart-clenching feel, the need to cheer for the hero and heroine, or need to curse that one of the characters is being stupid, but you’re still hoping they would conclude their differences, get past their flaws, figure out their conflicts, and do what they do best: fall in love. Give me romance!

I’m not all there for the sex, even though the sexual tension may be eye-opening. I love seeing relationships bloom, couples come together because they know they’re supposed to be together, and most of all, they find love. And happiness.

I want to smile for them, feel happy for them, and feel what they’re feeling.

It lets me enjoy their world, kidnap me to another place even if it’s for a few hours.   Dream, that one day, I’ll find my Prince Charming just like how the heroine in the book found hers, all flawed and at times mean, but compassionate, charming, and so damn loveable that I, as the reader, don’t want to live without him either.

 ,
So, what’s your favorite genre?

My favorite genre is most definitely romance. Actually I don't read anything but romance. Romantic suspense, paranormal, historical, contemporary, it doesn't matter to me. As long as it's good I'll read it. I like them a little steamy but if there's no sex that's okay too. And for me there can't be too much sex. I saw a comment once about a certain author whose books are 85% sex & 15% plot. That wouldn't do for me. I have to have a story line too. The sexual tension is just as good as the sex. Clarissa Yip is a new to me author & her books look good. I've added them to my wishlist on Amazon.

I agree with you Tonya. I don't mind sex in a book at all, but there has to be a storyline/plot that goes along with it. Clarissa's books are fabulous, I know you'll enjoy them :)
