Question of the Week

[box]Q: Have you ever looked at a book’s cover and thought, This is going to horrible? But, was instead pleasantly surprised?[/box]

I love book covers and, I admit, it’s what first attracts me to a book. If the cover is bad then I’m not going to be interested enough to pick it up. However, I’m the first to admit I may be missing out on some pretty wonderful reads. One book that I read recently, Between a Rock and A Mad Woman by Stephanie Queen, is one example. I was asked to review the book by the author and I am glad I did. I DO NOT like the cover, it reminds me of the old Charlie’s Angels shot of the girls in shadow pointing their guns, not attractive to me at all. Then I started to read, and what I found was a smart & witty story that was beautifully written and had me wishing it was a series instead of a stand alone book. Had I been shopping on Amazon or at the bookstore, I never would have picked it up. Lesson learned….
