Review: Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens
Genre: Contemporary Romance
I cried, I laughed, I hurt, I got pissed off (about the 75% mark – I wanted to go through the pages and just slap Kiera one good time) and I got the closure that I needed. I cannot recommend this book enough, it is exceptional!
My eyes are red from crying and they need toothpicks to hold them open. I’m emotionally spent and feel like I just got off the roller coaster from hell and am reeling from the adrenaline rush. Why, you ask? Because I just spent the last 7 hours reading one of the most intense, gut-wrenching & emotional books ever! I literally could not put this book down, when I tried, my tablet, Kellan & Kiera kept taunting me to come back for more. Until a few days ago, I’d never even heard of this book – now I find myself a little obsessed and addicted.
Kiera & Denny are in love and have spent the last two years together in happiness. Denny has just gotten a new job and, in order to stay with him, Kiera leaves the only home she’s ever known and moves across the country with him. In order to save money, an old friend of Denny’s, Kellan, agrees to be roommates and let them move in. They love being together and for awhile are happy. Then Denny springs the unthinkable on Kiera – he has to leave for 2 months for his job & Kiera can’t go. This is where the rides starts friends and believe me – you better buckle up for this one. From the start, this book sucks you in and will not let go. Phones can ring, kids can go hungry & all necessary functions of daily life will cease to matter – your only focus is Thoughtless.
Kellan is, for me, almost indescribable. His character just explodes off the page, takes center stage and you are drawn to him – just like Kiera. He exudes such passion, lust, desire & an overwhelming need to be accepted. He just wants to be loved and wanted. When Denny leaves, Kiera is so depressed and lonely. Kellan just wants to see her smile, to make her happy and does everything in his power to accomplish that. If you are not a fan of love triangles or infidelity – then this book may not be for you. I have never been a fan of this subject matter, however, I was like a moth to a flame with this book and S.C. Stephens does a superb job of capturing the extreme emotions that go along with it.
