Desperately Wanting Wednesday – Books I Want to Read Again & Again

Desperately Wanting Wednesday
Desperately Wanting Wednesday

Desperatly Wanting Wednesday, hosted by Parajunkee's View
Desperately Wanting Wednesday, is inspired by the meme Waiting on Wednesday, which was created by Breaking the Spine. But, unlike WOWs, Desperately Wanting Wednesday is not only for releases that I’ve been waiting on, it’s also for released novels that I just haven’t purchased yet, or might be sitting on my shelf that I want to read, but just haven’t gotten there yet.  Whether it’s a new release or just new to you – every book is welcome.

This week’s DWW is dedicated to Books I want to read again.  These are books that I’ve read, fell in love with and want to read again just so I can experience them for 2nd, 3rd or even 4th time. These are my comfort reads, my book blankies.

Every so often I’ll read a book that completely grabs me and once I get done it’s REALLY hard to pick something else up that compares.  The way I refresh or reboot is to pick up one of my comfort reads.  These are books that are on my all-time favorites list/shelf, books that I could probably recite in my sleep but, also ones that wrap me up in their yummy goodness and help me get over my book withdrawal because they are SO damn good!

Acheron

Acheron is book #15 in Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series and it’s also my all-time favorite Paranormal Romance genre book.  I can only read the 2nd part now – the first part is just to painful (think BDB’s Zsadist x1000).  If you haven’t read this series yet – it is a definite must read for any PNR fan :)

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron.  He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.

War has never been more deadly… or more fun.

Naked in Death
My next comfort read is any book from J.D. Robb’s In Death series.  This my favorite series EVER and is still going strong after 35 full length books, 11 novellas & almost 20 years.  The first book in the series is Naked in Death and this is where you should start…now.  I’m not kidding.  I won’t mind if you stop looking at this post long enough to go buy the book.  Trust Me!  You won’t be disappointed.

[box style="rounded" border="full"]In a world of danger and deception, she walks the line–between seductive passion and scandalous murder…

Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over ten years on the force, she’s seen it all–and knows her survival depends on her instincts. And she’s going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire–and a suspect in Eve’s murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it’s up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about–except the addictive hunger of needing his touch.

So, what books do you want to read again?  Do you have a comfort read? If so, tell me about it.  I can always use another favorite book ;)

Alyssa

I read to save my sanity, plain & simple. I am a married mother of 3 (2 of which are teenagers, yay me!) who needs an escape from the eye rolls, attitude and day to day drama that comes along with raising teenagers. Without books, I would be medicated ;)

Agree with you on Acheron, it is a fantastic story. Have not read JD Robb yet though.
