Top Play Thursdays #2 – 7/12/12
Welcome to my new weekly meme, Top Play Thursdays! Every Thursday, I’ll list the Top 5 music plays from my iPod, for the previous week. I love music, almost as much as books, and would love to share what I’m listening to with you! I’d love to hear what you’re listening to – make sure to leave a comment and tell me. Like books, I’m always looking for a new music fix…

Here are my top plays for the this week…
5. [typography font="Lobster Two" size="24" size_format="px" color="#e7c0fc"]I Told You So by Karmin[/typography] - This is the follow track to their smash hit single, Brokenhearted and is track #3 on their new album, Hello. I’ve loved this duo since their days on YouTube with all of their fabulous covers and this song is no different!
4. [typography font="Lobster Two" size="24" size_format="px" color="#e7c0fc"]Want You Back by Cher Lloyd[/typography] – I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song! The music is fresh and the lyrics are cute & sweet. It makes for the perfect summer song. Purchase the single on iTunes.
3. [typography font="Lobster Two" size="24" size_format="px" color="#e7c0fc"]Down by Jason Walker ft. Molly Reed[/typography] – This is an older song and I was turned onto it by Liz Crowe, the amazing author of the Stewart Realty series. This song was on her playlist while writing the newest book in that series, Essence of Time. Once I heard it, I fell in love and have listened to it nonstop ever since. You’ll find the single on Jason’s self-titled debut albumon iTunes.
2. [typography font="Lobster Two" size="24" size_format="px" color="#e7c0fc"]Wide Awake by Katy Perry[/typography] – Track #15 on her über popular album Teenage Dream – Complete Confection. I haven’t yet heard a song of Katy’s that I don’t like, but this one is just beautiful. Plus she has purple hair, come on you know you want yours that way…I do
1. [typography font="Lobster Two" size="24" size_format="px" color="#e7c0fc"]My Homies Still by Lil Wayne & Big Sean[/typography] – Be forwarned, THIS VIDEO IS NOT THE CLEAN VERSION! I am a huge rap/hip-hop fan and this song just speaks to my inner hood goddess! It’s raunchy, in your face & explicit. The bass is hella sick and is the perfect song to listen to in the car, with the windows down, sunroof open and turned all the way up!!! Lil Wayne is not for everyone, but if you love hip-hop as much as I do, then I know you’ll appreciate this. Purchase the single on iTunes!.

OK, I’m not really following directions but I don’t really listen to an iPod all that much. I have tons of CDs that I listen to in the car. These are the first 5 songs on the one I’ve been listening to a lot this past week. I like older music better than most of the music that’s popular these days.
Whiter Shade of Pale by Procal Harem

Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad by Meatloaf

All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You by Heart

I Want Love by Elton John
It doesn’t have to be an iPod. I don’t always listen to mine either. I’m either listening to iHeartRadio, Sirius, YouTube playlists that I have created or Pandora. As long as I get to listen to music in some form, I’m good
Love your choices Tonya! Heart is one of my favorite groups and you just reminded me that I need to listen to them more – it’s been awhile
Thanks for sharing!!
I love Heart too. I guess I was too young when that song came out to realize the controversy it caused. When I looked it up earlier one site I clicked on had a good many negative comments about it. Apparently it’s telling women it’s perfectly fine to pick up a stranger & have a wild night of sex with him. It’s a song, for goodness sake! Much like a fiction romance novel, don’t you think?
I agree Tonya. I was also too young when that song came out to understand its meaning. Now that I do, I could care less
There are a lot more important things to worry about in this crazy world – let me enjoy my music in peace, lol
